# Your first post

> A guided walkthrough of writing your first Rheos post in the Unified Post Editor — pick a content type, choose a formula, refine with comments and publish.

This is the long-form version of the quickstart, focused on the **Unified Post Editor (UPE)** — the single screen where you create, refine and publish every post.

  <Step title="Open a new post">
    From the sidebar, select **New post**. A blank Unified Post Editor opens with your active brand selected at the top.

  <Step title="Pick a content type">
    Pick **text**, **image** or **carousel** (**video** is coming soon). This sets the shape of the post and which fields Rheos asks for next. You can change it later — turning a single image into a carousel, for example.

  <Step title="Optionally pick a pillar">
    A **pillar** is a saved formula preset — think "Educational carousels" or "Bold provocations". Pick one to pre-fill the angle and stay on-brand. Skip it if you want full creative freedom.

  <Step title="Write your prompt">
    One line is enough. "5 mistakes first-time house buyers make", "Our new spring menu launches Monday", "Why we stopped offering free consultations". Rheos uses your brand identity to flesh it out.

  <Step title="Pick an angle">
    Rheos suggests **5 complete formulas** — each is an Intent + Hook + CTA combination with a preview headline. Pick the one that fits. The formula chips at the top of the editor light up so you can see exactly what's been chosen.

  <Step title="Review the draft">
    The post body, image (if relevant) and any hashtags appear in the editor. The right-hand panel shows a per-platform preview — Instagram looks different to LinkedIn looks different to X.

  <Step title="Refine with comments">
    Highlight a sentence and a popover appears. Type "make it punchier" or "shorten by half" — Rheos rewrites just that bit. Repeat as many times as you like. No credits are spent on small text edits.

      For visuals, select the image to open the embedded **Image Studio** and re-generate with a fresh prompt, or upload your own.

  <Step title="Tweak the formula">
    Not happy with the angle? Select any formula chip (Intent, Hook, CTA) to swap it without losing your draft. Rheos rewrites the post to match the new formula.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick platforms">
    Pick the platforms you want to publish to. Rheos auto-trims captions to fit each platform's character limit and surfaces a warning if anything won't fit.

  <Step title="Publish or schedule">
    Select **Publish now** to push it out immediately, or pick a date and time on the calendar to schedule it. Scheduled posts show up in the Posts page with their status.

## After publishing

Your post appears in the Posts page with its publish status per platform. If a platform fails (token expired, rate limit, etc.) Rheos retries and notifies you. You can re-publish manually from the post detail page at any time.
