# Connect social accounts

> Connect Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Pinterest, TikTok and YouTube to Rheos so you can schedule and publish posts to each network.

Rheos publishes to nine networks. You connect each account once and Rheos handles the tokens from there.

## Supported platforms

## How to connect an account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Settings → Social Accounts">
    From the sidebar, open **Settings**, then pick **Social Accounts**.

  <Step title="Choose a platform">
    Select **Connect** next to the network you want to add. A new tab opens for that network's login.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorise Rheos">
    Sign in and approve the permissions the platform asks for. You'll be redirected back to Rheos automatically.

  <Step title="Confirm it's live">
    The account appears in your socials list with a green status dot. You can now schedule and publish to it.

## Platform notes

<Accordion title="Instagram">
  Rheos connects to Instagram directly (not through a Facebook Page). You'll need an **Instagram Business or Creator account** — personal accounts can't publish via the API. If you're switching from personal, do that in the Instagram app first, then connect.

  You can connect your personal profile and any company pages you admin. Both **company mentions** and **person mentions** are supported when drafting posts.

  You connect a Facebook Page, not your personal profile. Make sure you're a Page admin before starting.

  Each follows the same flow — select **Connect**, sign in, approve. For Mastodon you'll be asked for your server URL (e.g. `mastodon.social`).

## Token expiry and reconnection

<Note>
  Most platforms issue tokens that eventually expire. Rheos auto-refreshes Instagram tokens in the background. For other networks — including LinkedIn — tokens can't be silently refreshed. When one expires, or if you change your password, you'll see a **Reconnect** prompt next to that account.

<Tip>
  If a scheduled post fails because a token expired, the post stays in your queue. Just reconnect and re-queue — nothing's lost.
